Known as the co-cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan, the enormous Parish Church of Epiphany of Our Lord has an unusual history and is distinctive from any other churches.

Said to have been built in the year 1616, the Los Tres Reyes or The Three Kings (The cathedral’s name back then) was established with a distinguishing feature: an Oriental Pagoda-like belfry tower about 45 yards high, which ultimately became as one of the best structures in Pangasinan. The cathedral was under the Dominican Order until the Filipinos revolted against the Spaniards, which took place in the year 1898. Afterwards, several Filipino priests took turns in taking charge of the Three Kings Parish from 1900 to June 1933. The cathedral operations was going smoothly, having no problems and issues until the 9th of January, 1945, when American forces landed in Lingayen beach and dropped bombs in Poblacion. The church was partially destroyed and caused the century-old bells to fall.

The church, along with the other destroyed structures such as the Bishop’s palace, was eventually rebuilt with more improvement. The century-old bells was displayed outside the cathedral, and was replaced with new ones for durability.
