The city of Makati is a highly urbanized place in the country, making it the nation’s financial center. As a result, it has the highest concentration of both multinational and local corporations in the country. In the district, major banks, corporations, department stores, and foreign embassies have their offices.

The largest trading floor of the Philippine Stock Exchange used to be located along the city’s Ayala Avenue , before the stock exchange relocated its headquarters to the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig . There is no doubt that Makati is also regarded as an important cultural and entertainment center in Metro Manila.
