Luneta Hotel: Manila’s Architectural Jewel Awaiting Rediscovery
Perched along T. M. Kalaw Street in Ermita, Luneta Hotel has long been more than a building; it is a silent witness to Manila’s evolving story. Its location, facing the expansive greens of Rizal Park, positioned it at the center of civic life, cultural events, and urban development. Designed by Spanish architect-engineer Salvador Farré, the six-storey structure reflected French Renaissance sensibilities with mansard roofs, ornate carvings, and wide French windows, distinguishing it from surrounding buildings of simpler design.
