Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the Philippines, is more than just a vast expanse of water. It’s a lifeline, a cultural icon, and in many ways, a reflection of the region’s complex relationship with nature and progress. Located southeast of Metro Manila, this freshwater lake stretches across approximately 911 to 949 square kilometers, making it the country’s largest inland body of water. It borders the provinces of Laguna to the south and Rizal to the north, creating a wide crescent-shaped basin that has shaped the life and livelihood of millions.
