Mines View Park is one of Baguio City’s most iconic and beloved destinations, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Benguet and a rich history that draws visitors from near and far. Situated on the northeastern outskirts of the city, the park is perched on a ridge, providing a sweeping vista of the Cordillera mountain range, the lush Amburayan Valley, and the distant mining town of Itogon, from which the park derives its name.

A Window to the Past

Mines View Park traces its roots back to the American colonial period when Baguio was developed as a hill station. The park became a popular spot for tourists to gaze out at the expansive mining operations that once thrived in the region. Today, while the mining activities have dwindled, the park remains a significant historical site, preserving the memory of the area’s rich mining heritage.

Since the 1970s, locals have frequented the park, patiently waiting beneath the view deck for the coins tossed by tourists. However, the experience has transformed over the years, evolving with the changing times and the growing number of visitors.
