In 2007, Ocean Adventure secured a major lease expansion, increasing its land and bay area footprint. This enabled the park to plan for additional facilities and tourism infrastructure, while continuing to offer interactive marine animal experiences, educational programs, and scenic lagoon views that draw both families and photographers.

Expanded Footprint for Tourism
By 2007, Subic Bay Marine Exploratorium, Inc. (SBMEI) formalized a new long-term lease agreement with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), covering 436.89 hectares of land and 67.87 hectares of bay area, with a commitment to develop at least 101.71 hectares for tourism purposes. This expansion significantly increased the scope of Ocean Adventure, creating opportunities for future infrastructure such as hotels, additional visitor facilities, and complementary recreational attractions.

Facilities and Visitor Access
Even as the park prepared for expansion, visitors continued to enjoy the core experiences established in earlier years. The lagoon-based habitats provided ample opportunities for false killer whale viewing, sea lion shows, and Encounter Cove interactions. The park’s layout emphasized accessibility and scenic vistas, with boardwalks and viewing decks positioned to frame Subic Bay’s natural beauty. Early morning light offered photographers soft reflections over the water, while afternoons highlighted playful animal behavior for dynamic wildlife shots.
Tourism Appeal and Visitor Experience
Ocean Adventure in 2007 continued to attract both local and international tourists, who appreciated the balance of education and recreation. The combination of marine animal programs, open-water exhibits, and landscaped park areas allowed families and travelers to plan full-day visits. Photographers found unique vantage points along the lagoons and natural shorelines, capturing both the animals and the vibrant Subic Bay scenery.
Integration with Subic Bay’s Growth
The lease expansion also aligned with Subic Bay’s broader tourism development goals. By controlling larger areas of land and water, SBMEI could integrate Ocean Adventure with regional attractions, creating a hub for eco-tourism, marine education, and recreational tourism in Morong, Bataan. Visitors experienced not just a marine park, but a destination that was increasingly connected to Subic Bay’s diverse natural and cultural attractions.
