The town is a gateway to the stunning Mount Pulag National Park, where visitors can experience the “sea of clouds” phenomenon at the summit. Mount Pulag, the third highest peak in the Philippines, offers trekking opportunities that reward hikers with panoramic views and diverse flora and fauna. The park’s rolling hills, dense forests, and vibrant meadows make it a haven for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

The town’s cooler climate, thanks to its high elevation, provides a refreshing escape from the heat. The picturesque terraced rice fields, lush forests, and pristine rivers add to Kabayan’s charm, making it a photographer’s paradise.
Cultural Heritage and Traditions
Kabayan is a treasure trove of cultural heritage. The town is known for its preservation of indigenous traditions and practices. The traditional “mummy caves” of Kabayan are a significant historical and cultural landmark. These ancient burial sites, carved into the cliffs of the area, offer a glimpse into the burial practices of the Ibaloi people. The well-preserved mummies within these caves have unfortunately started to deteriorate over time. However, a dedicated group of international archaeologists has joined forces to ensure their preservation. As a result, the Mummy Caves have gained recognition as one of the 100 Most Endangered Sites globally, emphasizing the importance of ongoing preservation efforts.
