TRACK FEATURES: BUILT FOR SPEED AND SKILL

The Carmona Race Track spans 1.380 kilometers and features 15 well-designed turns, making it a serious playground for anyone passionate about speed. The track was upgraded in 2019 to meet international standards set by the Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK), which means it’s not only fun but also up to par with global safety and racing benchmarks. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned racer, the layout challenges your reflexes and rewards your courage.

Major Events: When the Track Comes Alive

Carmona Race Track has long been a hub for motorsports events in the Philippines, regularly hosting some of the country’s most competitive races. Among the most prominent is the Rotax Max Challenge Philippines, a highly regarded karting series that draws top local and international drivers to compete using 125cc Rotax MAX engines. The circuit is also a staple venue for the TSR Championship, a multi-round motorcycle racing event that features amateur and pro riders from across the region.

In August 2024, it was the host of the Petronas Motorace Philippines, further solidifying its relevance in two-wheel racing. More than just a platform for elite competition, the track also supports community events such as the R150 Street GP Anniversary, celebrating local rider culture and grassroots motorsports with Suzuki R150 enthusiasts. These recurring events have helped cement Carmona’s reputation as both a proving ground and a celebration space for Philippine motorsports.

FACILITIES AND AMENITIES: MORE THAN JUST A TRACK

Carmona Race Track offers more than just a place to race. On-site facilities include pit garages, a control tower, timing systems, viewing areas, and a staging space for teams. There’s also a modest café-style area for snacks and refreshments, ideal for visitors who want to relax between races.

The open layout allows for great visibility of the track, even for casual spectators. It’s also common to see training sessions for both beginners and seasoned riders, thanks to the track’s availability for private rentals and club races.

MOTORSPORT CULTURE: WHERE PASSION TAKES OVER

One of the things that makes Carmona Race Track unique is its tight-knit motorsport community. From grassroots karting to high-level motorcycle racing, the culture here is fueled by passion. Many local riders and racers trace their beginnings to this track, and it continues to be a training ground for emerging talent in the Philippines.

GETTING THERE: A QUICK ESCAPE FROM THE METRO

Getting to Carmona Race Track is straightforward. It’s located in Barangay Bancal, Carmona, Cavite, and is easily accessible via the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). If you’re coming from Metro Manila, you can take the Southwoods exit, then follow the directional signs—it’s only about an hour away depending on traffic.

But here’s the thing—thanks to continuous infrastructure upgrades, getting to Cavite has become even easier. If you’re coming from areas like Parañaque, Las Piñas, or Manila, the Manila–Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) offers a smooth coastal route right into Cavite. And if you’re coming from the southern or eastern portions of Metro Manila, the Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX) gives you another fast, less congested alternative that connects Laguna directly to key Cavite areas.

This improved connectivity is one of the reasons the track has become a go-to for weekend warriors, motorsport tourists, and riders looking for that quick hit of speed without the hassle of a long commute.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: WHAT ELSE TO EXPLORE IN CARMONA

While the race track may be your main draw, there’s more to Carmona than just motorsports. A few minutes from the track, you’ll find Carmona’s town center where you can explore local churches, public parks, and small-town eateries.

The nearby San Lazaro Leisure Park, which houses a horse racing track and casino, also offers a completely different but equally exciting entertainment option. For nature lovers, the nearby Silang and Tagaytay areas provide quick escapes with scenic views and cooler weather.

WHERE TO EAT: POST-RACE CRAVINGS SOLVED

After the races or a day of spectating, there are plenty of local dining options to satisfy your cravings. Along Governor’s Drive and within Carmona proper, you’ll find a mix of Filipino carinderias, fast food chains, and local restaurants offering bulalo, grilled dishes, and silog meals.

For a more relaxed dining experience, you can venture toward Tagaytay for cafes and restaurants overlooking Taal Lake—only about 30–40 minutes away from Carmona.

WHY VISIT: NOT YOUR TYPICAL TOURIST SPOT

So, why should this be on your radar as a tourist? Because it offers something different. In a country known for its beaches and mountains, Carmona Race Track gives you the roar of engines, the cheers of crowds, and the rare chance to see motorsports up close—or even take part yourself.

It’s not your typical tourist attraction, but maybe that’s the point. This place runs on passion, speed, and community. Whether you’re snapping photos, joining an event, or simply soaking up the energy, the experience is worth every second.

FINAL THOUGHTS: MAKE ROOM FOR SPEED IN YOUR TRAVEL PLANS

Next time you’re planning a road trip or looking for a quick getaway with a twist, consider heading to Carmona. It’s not just a race track—it’s where the spirit of Filipino motorsports comes to life. And you don’t have to be a racer to appreciate the heart-pounding excitement. Just show up, and let the track do the rest.
