You know that feeling when you just want to escape the city buzz and dive straight into a chill beach vibe? Well, Calatagan South Beach, or CaSoBē as the locals call it, might just be your new favorite go-to spot in Batangas. Located roughly two to three hours from Manila, this 15-hectare beachside paradise is not your typical crowded shore—it’s a carefully crafted blend of luxury, adventure, and laid-back island life.

Check out the video for more highlights. See what I’ve captured through my lens with Point of View (POV) photography. Using a body cam, I’ll take you on an interactive tour, showing you behind-the-scenes moments of capturing the shots shared here.
Check out the video below for additional features. Explore what I’ve captured through my lens in this cinematic slideshow.
Getting There Is Half the Fun

Here’s the thing: the trip to CaSoBē is pretty straightforward—and way more convenient now, thanks to a few improved routes. If you’re coming from Manila, the easiest and smoothest drive starts with SLEX, then connects through the Mamplasan Interchange straight onto CALAX. From there, you cruise through wide, well-paved roads until you exit at CALAX Sta. Rosa, giving you quick access to Tagaytay. Once you’re on the Tagaytay–Nasugbu Highway and make that turn toward Calatagan, the change in scenery is immediate—rolling hills, open skies, and that familiar sense of escape. For those coming from the southern parts of Metro Manila like Pasay, or nearby Cavite towns, CAVITEX is a solid alternative. It connects you through the coastal route and links up easily with interior Cavite roads heading toward Tagaytay. Either way, with these modern highways cutting out the usual choke points, the drive to CaSoBē has never been this smooth.

CaSoBē’s Iconic Red Lighthouse

You can’t visit CaSoBē without spotting its striking red-and-white lighthouse—it’s practically the resort’s unofficial mascot. Standing around 15.5 meters tall, this lighthouse isn’t just for show. With its 360-degree viewing deck, it offers one of the best vantage points to take in sweeping views of the West Philippine Sea, the estate grounds, and those golden hour sunsets that seem to pause time.

By day, it’s a favorite photo spot and a natural meeting point. Come sunset, it transforms into something magical—bathed in soft lights, often becoming a backdrop for intimate gatherings or spontaneous drinks with a view. Whether you’re climbing to the top or simply admiring it from below, the lighthouse adds that extra layer of charm that ties the whole CaSoBē experience together.

ENDLESS FUN UNDER THE SUN

Whether you’re traveling solo, with family, or your best buddies, there’s something for everyone here. Families and kids will love Aquaria Waterpark, a vibrant spot with pools and slides that promise endless splashes and laughter. For those who want to keep it cool while having fun, The Swing Bar offers a unique twist—enjoy your favorite drink while gently swaying in swinging chairs, all set against the backdrop of sea and sky.

If you’re looking for a bit more excitement, the beach comes alive with water sports like jet skiing, pedal boating, and banana boating, giving you plenty of ways to get your adrenaline pumping. Don’t miss out on island hopping adventures that take you to nearby gems such as Starfish Island and Lubang Island, where snorkeling reveals an underwater world teeming with vibrant marine life. For the active souls, there are basketball courts, bike paths, and playgrounds spread across the estate, making sure you have plenty of options to stay energized and social.

STAY IN STYLE: THE APOLLO EXPERIENCE AND MORE

Let’s talk staycations—because where you sleep can make or break your trip. And at CaSoBē, you won’t just “stay,” you’ll experience your accommodation. The standout here? Apollo Aeropods.

These futuristic, minimalist units are redefining what it means to glamp in style. Apollo isn’t your average beach accommodation. Shaped like space capsules, the Aeropods feel like you’ve stepped into a sleek, cozy sci-fi pod—but with beachfront views and air-conditioning. Inside, you’ll find a queen-sized bed, smart lighting, and just enough room for you and your beach essentials. It’s a snug, quiet, and strangely soothing space to wind down after a day in the sun. If you’re the type who likes privacy, a little quirkiness, and modern design, Apollo’s definitely your thing.

Now if pods aren’t your thing, CaSoBē still has plenty of solid options. The Cabins are a favorite for families and small groups—spacious, simple, and just the right amount of cozy. What really sets them apart are the porches. They’re wide, breezy, and come with beach chairs where you can kick back, dry off after a swim, or just hang while the kids run around. It naturally becomes the go-to spot for both adults and kids—part chill zone, part front-row seat to all the action.

Then there are the Cocoons—and honestly, they’re kind of a scene. Shaped like giant tubes, they’re compact but cleverly laid out, making them a fun pick for glampers or anyone who’s into quirky stays. What really grabs attention, though, are the exteriors. Each one is painted with bright, playful ocean animals—octopuses, fish, sea stars—bringing this splash of color and personality that kids absolutely love. It’s like staying inside a giant piece of seaside art (well, technically just outside it—but you get the vibe).

From quirky to comfy to Insta-worthy, CaSoBē’s stay options cater to every kind of traveler. But if you ask us? Apollo’s that cool, under-the-radar pick that makes your getaway extra memorable.

Perfect Spot for Special Moments

Planning a wedding or a special celebration? CaSoBē’s “The Canopy” offers a unique indoor venue that feels anything but boxed in. It’s a spacious, air-conditioned tent-style setup—elegant but relaxed, with enough room to make your event feel personal without feeling cramped. And while it’s fully enclosed, you still get that beachside vibe thanks to its location just steps from the shore. Whether you’re going for laid-back tropical or something more polished, it’s a flexible space that easily adapts to your vision. Perfect for weddings, birthdays, or any moment worth making memorable.

Aquaria: CaSoBē’s Splashy Showpiece

Aquaria Water Park isn’t just a place to cool off—it’s a full-on beachfront playground built right alongside CaSoBē’s stretch of powdery white sand. With over 500 meters of shoreline, the park features everything from cozy cabanas to lagoon-style pools and a tall spiral slide that drops you straight into a six-foot splash zone. It’s fast, it’s fun, and still totally family-friendly.

What makes Aquaria stand out is the balance between thrill and chill. Sure, there are slides and splash zones for high-energy fun, but you’ve also got peaceful corners—like the shallow pools for little ones, a swim-up bar for the grown-ups, and those beachside cabanas that are perfect for mid-day lounging. It’s designed so that everyone finds their own vibe—kids dash off to play, adults ease into full relax mode, and groups hang out on floaters just soaking it all in.

And the best part? It all flows naturally with the rest of the CaSoBē experience. One minute you’re zipping down a slide, the next you’re grabbing snacks by the sea or strolling back to your cabin or cocoon for a quick rest. It’s that kind of place where the line between fun and downtime blurs—in the best way possible.

Beyond the Beach

Once you’ve soaked up the sun, take a quick trip to some nearby gems that give you a fuller taste of Batangas’ charm. Visit the historic Cape Santiago Lighthouse for sweeping coastal views that remind you why you fell in love with the sea in the first place. If you want a quieter beach vibe, Little Boracay offers soft, powdery white sand perfect for relaxing afternoons. And for the snorkeling enthusiasts, Starfish Island is a must-see, where colorful coral reefs and starfish await just beneath the waves.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT CASOBĒ NOW

Whether you’re looking for a weekend escape, a family adventure, or even a second home, Calatagan South Beach is ready to welcome you with open arms. It’s more than just a beach—it’s an experience that blends community warmth, nature’s beauty, and a touch of luxury.

So, when you’re plotting your next getaway, keep CaSoBē on your radar. Pack your bags, bring your camera (I mean, what travel photographer doesn’t want those epic beach shots?), and get ready to discover a side of Batangas that feels both fresh and familiar.
