This Christmas, Dolores shone as the creative heart of Quezon province. Paskotitap 2025 transformed the town into a radiant celebration of lights, movement, and storytelling—where fashion, faith, and local identity came together through illuminated creations inspired by the very soul of the town.
At the heart of this year’s showcase were 12 distinct symbols and themes, all drawn from Dolores’ natural environment, livelihood, and traditions. These included bayuko, jade vine, wild sunflower, pako fern, luyang dilaw, kape, water hyacinth, sampinit, and other locally rooted elements that shaped the visual language of the event. Each theme was translated into light, form, and texture, reflecting stories of resilience, faith, abundance, and hope—turning the parade into a moving portrait of Dolores’ cultural and natural heritage.
Originally initiated by former Tourism Officer Mr. Lax Mendoza, Paskotitap has steadily grown into one of the town’s most anticipated Christmas traditions. This year’s edition was proudly organized by BATA STAR, the region’s business and tourism association, with strong support from the LGU Tourism Office and Mayor Orlan Calayag. According to Ms. Mich of Viajes de los Dolores Travel and Tours, designers and models drew lots to represent specific Doloresin themes, challenging them to elevate their concepts while staying grounded in local inspiration. Each participant received a cash subsidy, helping bring these creative visions to life.
On December 20, the celebration came alive as the town’s iconic church yard became the starting point of the parade. From there, the illuminated creations moved along the highway toward the town plaza, passing the giant Christmas tree at the rotonda. As the procession unfolded, the plaza appeared to double in brightness, drawing residents into the streets to witness a stunning display of color, light, and imagination. It was a moment that showed how Dolores turns Christmas into a shared expression of pride and community.
Mayor Orlan Calayag shared that, with the continued support of the LGU Tourism Office, plans are already underway to expand Paskotitap in the coming years, including inviting neighboring towns to participate. Still, he emphasized that the event will remain rooted in what makes it special—a celebration uniquely Doloresin, where local themes and artistic storytelling take center stage in a way no other town in Quezon has done.
The night concluded with the Light Vehicle Competition, where OLMBC bagged the title as the sole contender, followed by a captivating fireworks display that lit up the night sky—an apt finale to a celebration defined by creativity and collective spirit.
