Malate Church
Malate Church stands as a profound symbol of faith, resilience, and artistry, preserving its sacred role and architectural splendor through centuries of triumphs and trials.
Situated in the heart of Quezon City, the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center (NAPWC) offers a serene retreat from the bustling streets of Metro Manila. Spanning 22.7 hectares, this sanctuary is more than just a park—it plays a crucial role in conservation, provides a safe haven for wildlife, and offers visitors a peaceful space to immerse themselves in nature.
Originally established in 1954 as part of the Quezon Memorial National Park, the park was envisioned as a green lung for the city. Over time, it transformed into a wildlife sanctuary, serving as a temporary refuge for rescued and rehabilitated animals.
In 1986, the park was renamed to honor Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., a national hero who fought for democracy in the Philippines. Today, the park is managed under the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (ENIPAS) Act of 2018, reinforcing its role in urban biodiversity conservation.
Beyond its function as a tourist attraction, the park is a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center where confiscated, retrieved, and injured animals are given medical care before being released back into their natural habitat.
NAPWC offers a variety of activities that cater to nature lovers, families, and even photographers looking for picturesque landscapes. Here’s what you can experience during your visit:

Take a leisurely stroll through the park’s tree-lined pathways and immerse yourself in nature. The park is home to over 4,000 trees, including narra, molave, kamagong, and ipil, which provide much-needed shade and fresh air in the city.
For plant enthusiasts, the botanical garden showcases a diverse range of Philippine flora, making it an educational and visually stunning area to explore.

One of the park’s main attractions is its Wildlife Rescue Center, which serves as a temporary shelter for rescued animals. While access is restricted to ensure the well-being of these animals, visitors can still learn about the park’s conservation efforts through educational programs and guided tours.

One of the most picturesque areas of the park is its serene lagoon. This peaceful body of water is home to fish and serves as a resting place for migratory birds that pass through the region.
Visitors can sit by the lagoon, watch the birds, and enjoy the tranquil ambiance—perfect for meditation, relaxation, or simply escaping the city’s noise.
