A Circular Refuge Along General Luna Street
Along General Luna Street at the eastern end of Padre Faura in Paco stands Paco Park, one of Manila’s most distinctive historic landmarks. From the outside, its high adobe walls appear almost fortress-like, concealing what lies within. Step through its entrance, however, and the city softens. The circular layout immediately draws the eye inward, guiding visitors along shaded paths that trace the perimeter of what was once a cemetery. The stillness inside contrasts sharply with the movement beyond its gates, making it feel like a contained world shaped by centuries of change.
