Nestled in the heart of Quezon City, this sprawling 493-hectare campus is a haven for tourists, history enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.

A Walk Through History
The University of the Philippines was founded in 1949, and its Diliman campus serves as the flagship of the University of the Philippines System. It has witnessed pivotal moments in the nation’s history, including the 1971 Diliman Commune, a student-led uprising against government policies. Today, remnants of its activist spirit remain visible in vibrant murals, graffiti art, and monuments scattered across the campus.
One must-visit historical site is the Oblation Plaza, where the iconic Oblation Statue, sculpted by Guillermo Tolentino, stands tall. This symbol of selfless sacrifice has become synonymous with UP’s mission of serving the Filipino people. A stroll around the area also leads to the Carillon Tower, the only manually played bell tower in the Philippines, offering visitors a unique musical experience.

Food Haven: A Culinary Adventure
A visit to UP Diliman is incomplete without indulging in its vibrant food scene. The famous Rodic’s Diner, located in the UP Shopping Center, serves the best tapa (cured beef) in town, while the UP Town Center houses a variety of trendy cafes and restaurants. Food stalls around the campus also offer affordable and delicious street food, from isaw (grilled chicken intestines) to banana cue (caramelized fried bananas).
